What is a Recruiting & Culture Coordinator?

As the Recruiting & Culture Coordinator at Mediacurrent you will be responsible for full lifecycle recruiting for a variety of disciplines across Mediacurrent, such as IT, sales, creative, development, strategy, and design. You should be comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively, in all phases of sourcing, outreach, feedback, negotiation, offer and follow-up. This position is on site in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate is an ace interviewer, phenomenal listener, ingenious writer and a diplomatic teammate. This opportunity requires experience with talent acquisition and a familiarity with modern sourcing techniques (i.e. networking, posting on social media & niche job boards, and using new recruiting tools--we use Jazz).

What does a Recruiting & Culture Coordinator do?

Communication, Screening & Interviewing

  • Serve as a liaison between managers, staff and applicants.
  • Candidate Screening: Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility by reviewing employment applications and job descriptions, and verify information by conducting reference and background checks.
  • Schedule or administer pre-employment assessments for prospective employees.
  • Contact and schedule candidates for phone screens and interviews, informing candidates of information regarding application status, logistics and position/company details.
  • Interview candidates to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills, in order to match their attributes to specific roles or to increase the pool of available talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a best-in-class experience for internal and external candidates.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide reports around pipelines, candidate activity, prospecting activity & candidate quality.
  • Prepare, process, verify, and maintain data and personnel related documentation for staffing and recruitment.
  • Pipeline and document candidate process, outreach, feedback and interviews.


  • Evaluate personnel practices to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Evaluate recruitment or selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, or testing standards, recommending revisions, as needed.

Selection & Negotiation

  • Select qualified candidates for positions or submit lists of suitable candidates to hiring managers for final selection, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
  • Negotiate employment agreements.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.

Active Recruiting

  • Locate, source and engage with qualified talent by leveraging a variety of platforms and tools.
  • Engage the talent pool and know your demographics! Plan, coordinate, attend and be a visible community member at industry events, career fairs, hackathons, meetups and other personnel recruitment activities.


  • Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Interview employees, customers, or others to collect information in order to understand roles and further refine selection criteria.
  • Advise management on organizing, preparing, or implementing recruiting or retention programs.
  • Evaluate selection or testing techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management or supervisory personnel.
  • Keep current with design, emerging technology and industry trends, with excitement to promote and build Mediacurrent’s teams and values.


  • 2-5 years’ experience in an agency or consumer-focused company, partnering with hiring managers directly as a coordinator, sourcer or recruiter for creative, strategy or engineering positions.
  • Broad experience with various recruiting methods and utilizing a range of sourcing tools.
  • Enjoy collaborative work with cross-functional teams in a strategy-driven and creative environment.
  • Provide support to multiple hiring managers, while recruiting for concurrent roles.
  • Effective negotiator.
  • Flexible and proactive attitude, super organized and able to constantly prioritize in fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment and selection.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.

Not required, but bonus points if you...

  • Are familiar with Drupal.
  • Are familiar with Jazz HR software.
  • Have prior experience recruiting for tech firms.
  • Have prior experience with remote positions.
  • Display attributes such as: attention to detail, cooperation, dependability, integrity, concern for others, deductive reasoning, active listening, and critical thinking.
