The Front-End Developer will work with the Theme Manager to create documentation, training programs and related strategy materials to help the design department to stay on the cutting edge. This position will analyze creative assets from customers or in-house designers and help develop pixel perfect Drupal based themes. This role will require developer to enforce Drupal theme best practices and principles. The Front-End Developer will approach each theme project with the customer’s business needs in mind, creating themes that ultimately help customers fulfill business objectives. This position will require from time-to-time consultation on design and creation of design mockups.

In addition, this position will build custom Drupal themes based on design assets generated internally or by the customer. The custom Drupal themes will be cross-browser and cross-platform compatible (desktop, tablet, smartphone) or as agreed to by the client. 

Our next Front-End Developer will possess the following knowledge/skills:

  • 2+ years experience building user interfaces from for design assets for the web and/or software applications
  • 2+ years creating custom Drupal themes
  • Ability to understand and interpret written creative briefs/questionnaires, wireframes, creative assets to direct reports in best theming practices
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, working on multiple theme projects in unison
  • Expert Adobe Creative Suite software skills: Photoshop, Illustrator
  • CSS/HTML5 guru, understanding latest trends and techniques for styling for desktop and mobile browsers
  • Experience with Angular, Ember, Backbone, or similar framework
  • Experience applying JavaScript design patterns (including MVC)
  • Ability to follow OOP principles in JavaScript development
  • Hands on experience developing with jQuery and jQuery Plugins
  • Knowledge of responsive design, & understanding of mobile-first approach design
  • Responsive design, cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, approaches to theming, QA procedures
  • Experience with or working knowledge of Drupal behaviors  
  • Detail oriented, excellent follow through, ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Experience using source control systems
  • Thorough understanding of Drupal’s theming layer - Twig, PHPTemplate and theme override techniques
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities
  • Expertise in interactive design, CSS3 animation techniques
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, and teamwork skills
